KALA KUWAIT “NIRAM 2009 - Tiffany” Prize Distribution Ceremony

KUWAIT: ‘NIRAM 2009 – Tiffany’ has come to a close upon the distribution of prizes to all winners were given away at a colorful function held in Indian Community School, Khaitan on Friday, 18th December 2009 in the presence of Community Leaders. 

The Painting competition titled by ‘NIRAM 2009 – Tiffany’ was organized by KALA Kuwait and held on the occasion of birthday of late Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of Independent India. While delivering inaugural speech Mr. Rajan Daniel opined that Nehruji, popularly known among  deserved much more from the community and he wished Indians rise to occasions, as it was Nehruji who laid basic foundation of modern India. Further, he recalled that Nehruji advocated socialism and secularism and worked tirelessly for national unity and religious harmony at home as well as for peaceful co-existence abroad. Later, Mr. Rajan Daniel were distributed first prizes to the winners of each group.

Meanwhile, Panel of Judges Artist Srinivasan, Lalu Lonappan and Sanil C.P. were honored by KALA Kuwait by giving away mementos to them in recognition of their laudable services in the field of arts. UAE Exchange Country Manager Pancely Workey, Jet Airways P.R.O Mustaq, Adv. Razak Payyoli also spoke on the occasion. Kala Kuwait President Mukesh Vanpulli Chaired the function and Welcome speech was delivered by General Secretary Hassan Koya. ‘NIRAM-2009’ General Convener Sam Kutty Thomas done the program reporting.  

It is noteworthy that a total of 1515 students from 19 Indian schools in Kuwait had entered the competition,  classified as 4 groups. Accordingly, first prize to each group (total 4 groups), 2nd prize to 5, 3rd prize to 6, Merit Prize to 32 and 105 consolation prizes were distributed. Messrs, Joseph Thankachan, Reghunathan Nair, Blessy Kadavil, Sebi Asmin, Sathar Kunnil, Hassan Thikkodi, Pushpa Narayanan, Hamza Payyannur, K, Aboobaker, C. Bhaskaran, Kaosar Jabeen, Dr. Shajan, T. K. Narayanan, Sudhan Avikkara, Ajitha Kumari, Beeran Koya, Suresh K. Nithin Kumar, Mhaboob Sheik, Vikram, Santha Kumar gave away the prizes. 

Binu Sukumaran, Jaison Kuruppumthara, Bimal Kumar, K. Sadik, K. Mohanan, Asok Chathanoor, Aji, V. Mohanan, Joney Kalavachal, Ayyub, Mustafa were active as volunteers to ensure the smooth and successful holding of the programme. Compering was done by Fida Gathimma. Treasure K Sadik congratulated the winners and thanked the audience. 

KALA KUWAIT has congratulated all the winners and also thanked all the participants as well as School Managements, Sponsors, all Indian Associations for their wholehearted support to make the event as great success and well supported by Kuwait's English dailies and Web Portals.
