Kuwait : Mrs. Swarna C. Shetty was elected unanimously as President of "Tulukoota Kuwait" for the year 2010

. She is also the first woman to be elected as the president of Tulukoota Kuwait. The elections were held during the annual general body meeting on Friday 18th December 09 at 11:00 am at United Indian School auditorium, Abbasiya.

Outgoing President A.K. Ravindra led the office bearers for traditional lighting of the lamp. In his welcome address he highlighted the activities of Tulukoota in the year 2009 and thanked everyone for their whole hearted support.

General Secretary Sathyanarayana presented the annual report and Treasurer Mark Pinto presented the finance report. Prizes were distributed to members & children for their contribution for Tulu Parba 09.

In the election of new office bearers for the year 2010 that followed, returning officer Mr. Sachidanand Suvarna announced the results. For the first time in the history of Tulukoota Kuwait, election was held for the post of Vice President, wherein Pascal Pinto beat Tharendra Shettigar by a narrow margin. The election for all other positions was unanimous.

Members and children presented a lively variety entertainment performance. Meeting concluded with delicious dinner.
