Christmas and New Year Day celebrations combined with the annual general body meeting of Kuwait Kannada Koota was held at the Indian Community Girls High School , Salmiya here, recently. The programme marks a gala ending of the year long silver jubilee celebrations of the koota.

The event started with Ganesha Stuti by Madhavi Kulkarni and group followed by paying silent homage to the departed souls of Kannada Cine Artiste of immense fame Dr Vishnuvardhan and the Kannada gayana gaarudiga C Ashwath. The variety entertainment programme began with Saraswathi Stuti in Koochupudi dance style by the graceful Maitri Moorthi. Rashmi Nayak and Anusha presented Todimanagalam in Bharatanatyam style.

A number of dance items were performed by Koota children both for Hindi and Kannada songs. Youth talen presented a couple of dances. Aditi Suvarna’s dance to Kehna Hai Kyaa hindi song and Dinesh Murthy’s highly stylish Michael Jackson dance enthralled the spectators. Also dances by Sanjana Shenoy, Sudarshan, Akhilesh, Ajay Karkal, Rutwik Shettigar and Neal Sanctis were all highly appreciated by the gathering.
