Kuwait spares no efforts to aid affected people worldwide -- KRCS

KUWAIT, Aug 7 (KUNA) -- President of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) Barjes Hmoud Al-Barjes has asserted that the State of Kuwait is sparing no effort in extending help and assistance to victims in various parts of the world , a matter that gives the impression that Kuwaiti society is always benevolent.
Speaking following his meeting with Pakistan's ambassador here Iftikhar Aziz, Al-Barjes said he discussed with Aziz the pressing needs of the flood-stricken people in Pakistan.
He added that he also discussed with Aziz a mechanism to deliver aid to the floods victims in Pakistan, as well as the humanitarian situation there.
Al-Barjes underscored Kuwait's solidarity with the Pakistani people to overcome this ordeal, affirming that the State of Kuwait always stands with the affected countries and provide them with all necessary assistance to overcome their plight.
He said that the State of Kuwait has always been at the forefront of countries that have provided all kinds of humanitarian aid to Pakistan in order to alleviate their suffering, recalling in this regard the (Habibullah) hospitals offered by Kuwait.
For his part, Pakistan's ambassador expressed his country's gratitude for the support provided by Kuwait to aid victims of the floods, which resulted in heavy losses of lives, property and infrastructure.
Aziz said that the immediate directives of HH the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to provide all sorts of assistance to flood-stricken people in Pakistan reflects the close ties between the two peoples and leaderships.
He said that the contribution of the State of Kuwait would alleviate the suffering of those affected by the floods, adding that the floods caused the displacement of 13 million people to other areas of Pakistan. - Kuna
