Telugu Kala Samithi Celebrated Sankranti Sambaralu on the occasion of Sankranti, the harvest Festival of Andhra Pradesh on 13th January at Integrated Indian School Abbasiya. The celebrations were inagurated at 9.00am by lighting of the lamp by the President G. Trimurtulu at the Temple of Goddess Durga followed by Lalitha Sahasra Namarachana by many lady members, a special attraction of the event. A thorough village Jathara atmosphere was created by various traditional stalls for food, Bangles, famous Andhra Kondapalli Toys, clothes and various games like Balloon shooting, ring throwing, Kay Raja Kay. Performances in the morning started with Puli (tiger) Dance, Ammori Jathara Dance, Karra Samu and Kolatam. There was a special event in jathara was live portrait drawing by an artist and many members availed this opportunity. Parallelly muggulu competition and vantala (cooking) competitions and many ladies showed enthusiasm and participated. Classical and semi classical dances were continued in parallel along with these events until noon time.
