Jan 26 (KUNA) -- Visiting Health Minister of Kuwait Dr. Hilal Al-Sayer and Canada's University Health Network (UNH)
has signed here a memorandum of understanding aimed at development of the different cancer treatment services in Kuwaiti hospitals. Spaeking to KUNA following the signing ceremony here last night, during which Kuwait's Ambassador to Canada Musaed Al Haroun was present, Sayer said the agreement included a ten-year strategic plan to bring up health services in Kuwait to UNH-adopted standards. Besides the improvement of the information technology services, the Canadian side would work on development of management in Kuwaiti cancer fighting centres including surgical, radial and chemical therapy traetment, Sayer said. He said cooperation would cover the diagnosing, education and training fields as well. Electronic communication and dispatch of Kuwaiti physicians in training courses in Canada, are services to be pursued according to terms of the agreement, the minister said. The agreement is expected to help Kuwait provide better health care services, enhance and improve health investment and education of Kuwaiti medical staff, said the minister. The minister, who arrived here earlier this week, is also expected to visit the United States of America for similar cooperation deals. - Kuna
