KUWAIT, Jan 27 (KUNA) -- Minister of Social Affairs and Labour Mohammad Al-Afasi on Wednesday endorsed a law to establish a union for Kuwaiti doctors.
The union aims to defend the rights and benefits of doctors, and would work to improve their financial and social status, representing them in all issues related to their affairs, said a ministry press statement. The Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour added that the union would accept into its membership every doctor in practice, who carries a recognized certificate and is employed in any medical institution, be it private or public. The union's 'General Assembly' would be the supreme body in charge of handling affairs, and would be comprised of all members who pay a monthly subscription until the date of the assembly's monthly meeting on February every year. - Kuna
