KUWAIT, March 26 (KUNA) -- The Petrochemical Industries Company (PIC) is keen on providing all elements of success for its employees, and always seeks to develop its human resources, officials said.
Speaking to KUNA at the conclusion of the 'Get Fit' campaign Thursday night at Boubyan Club, a number of PIC officials said that the company was organizing many health care-related activities for their employee, as part of its social responsibility for their safety. Managing Director for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Saad Al-Ajmi, said that the aim of such campaigns was to guarantee continued production in a healthy atmosphere. He explained that the company identified certain areas that needed to be addressed and worked to spread awareness through campaigns, and in this case the topic was obesity. The 'Get Fit' campaign helped raise awareness among employees of the dangers of obesity, he said, and lauded all parties that helped in offering free blood tests and giving medical and nutritional advice. On his part, Communications and Services Group Manager and head of the campaign, Abdulhadi Al-Hajri, underscored the importance of such campaigns because they addressed the needs of employees. The campaign is part of PIC's social responsibility towards those who work with it, he said. The campaign included lectures by specialized doctors, the distribution of brochures, awareness banners and posters, among others. Nutritional and fitness advice was given to employees. - Kuna
