KUWAIT, March 30 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Public Authority for Agriculture Affairs and Fish Resources (PAAAFR) said on Tuesday the law on pesticide registration and circulation was now being in effect.
As per the law, no-one can import or manufacture pesticides unless prior permission is required, Deputy Director General of the PAAAFR for Floral Resources and Head of the Pesticide Registration Committee Faisal al-Sedeqi said in a press release. The committee's members have already held a meeting to promote its tasks and role, and to discuss conditions and procedures for pesticide registration and re-registration, he said. The fresh law is primarily intended to ban the use of unregistered pesticides with a view to protecting and preserving public health and environment in the country, he added. - Kuna
