KUWAIT: The Ministry of Health (MoH) is considering exempting certain non-Kuwaitis, including bedoon (stateless) residents and expatriates
, from having to pay for cancer treatment, according to a senior ministry official. MoH Undersecretary Dr. Ibrahim Al-Abdulhadi revealed that the exemptions will include the cost of x-rays, lab tests, ultrasound treatment, medicines and all forms of therapy, reported Annahar. Dr. Al-Abdulhadi said that the ministry is investigating the issue, stressing that the MoH cares deeply about humanitarian cases, whether of Kuwaitis or expatriates. In other health-related news, an Adan Hospital insider revealed that a 35-year-old Kuwaiti woman suffering from meningitis has been admitted to an isolation unit there for treatment. - Kuwait Times
