KUWAIT, Sept 18 (KUNA) -- The Health Ministry's Emergency Medical Services Department announced on Saturday that 18 doctors will participate in two courses on accident victims to be held tomorrow in collaboration with King Abdulaziz University (KAU) in Saudi National Guard Hospital
, the regional representative of the American College of Surgeons. The ministry aims, through these courses, to seek in upcoming years all members of the medical training staff to be Kuwaitis, in addition to be accredited and licensed by the American College of Surgeons and American Heart Association, EMS technical Director and member of Coordinating and Training Committee Majda Al-Qattan, told KUNA in a statement. These courses come within the framework of persistent cooperation with KAU in Saudi National Guard Hospital as a plan to train medical doctors and technical staff to qualify for an international license from American College of Surgeons and American Heart Association, she added. The courses also contribute significantly to familiarizing participants with the latest ways and protocols in accident victims and praised cooperation of Saudi Arabia for training doctors in Kuwait, she noted. The ministry began implementing staff level upgrading plans in 2008 in an effort to provide high-quality medical services. - Kuna
