KUWAIT, Oct 4 (KUNA) -- Kuwait is keen on comprehensive development to genetic health and improving the health of individual and the society as a whole
, Assistant Undersecretary for Technical Affairs of the Health Ministry Khalid Al-Sahlawi said on Monday. On behalf of Minister of Health Dr. Hilal Al-Sayir, Al-Sahlawi made his comment in a speech marking the occasion of the start of the third International Conference on Genetic Diseases. "Such participation in the conference by specialized experts in the field of various genetic diseases, including the utilization of everything new to boost the health of individuals and society is a testimony to the country's keenness to tackle such issues," Al-Sahlawi said. The country represented by the Health Ministry has taken upon itself since the 60s to improve the health services in the country. As a result, the Genetic Disease Center was established in 1979 which helped with development in such field throughout the years. - Kuna
