Minister of Health Dr. Hilal Al-Sayer hailed Wednesday the efforts made by doctors who worked at the Ministry of Health in Kuwait over the past thirty years as well as the efforts made by new doctors to serve their country.
Al-Sayer said, in his address before the honoring ceremony held under the patronage of His Highness the Amir for doctors who served for thirty years at the Ministry of Health, that such first generation of doctors have devoted their prime of youth for the treatment of patients, and so they deserve honoring and appreciation for their efforts. Al-Sayer added that the Ministry of Health saw a big progress since it was the first establishment as a Public Health Department in 1936 and up till now, noting that the ministry continues to catch up with the state-of-the-art developments in the medical field. The ministry of Health made big strides toward providing health care to citizens, and residents alike, and so it established public and specialized hospitals, and health centers in various Kuwaiti areas, and equipped them with cutting-edge medical appliances, Al-Sayer made clear. Al-Sayer said that the ministry paid much attention to the tools of training national cadres whether inside or outside the country, and constantly supported scientific research, and organized international medical scientific conferences, and workshops to tap into world expertise in various medical specialities, and get a glimpse of advanced methods in relation to diagnosis and treatment. He added that achievements and successes made by the Ministry of Health came a result of the feats of the first generation of sincere doctors who transported to Kuwait their medical expertise, besides the policy of scholarships adopted by the ministry in order to help doctors get diplomas in rare medical specialities. The honoring ceremony included a singing interlude by the female students of the Ministry of Education, in addition to a documentary depicting the progress of medical services in Kuwait since its early beginning at Dickson House.
