KUWAIT, June 14 (KUNA) -- Minister of Electricity and Water Salem Al-Uthayna said here Tuesday recent analyses showed that drinking water in Kuwait is safe and clear.
"I'd like to reassure the Kuwaiti people that water is safe and free of impurities," the minister told a National Assembly (parliament) session. Analyses - conducted by the Ministry of Health and Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR) - have proved that water is safe and clean, the minister said. Furthermore, the Ministry of Health is using the help of a World Horse Organization (WHO) expert in the analysis of drinking water, he said, adding that the expert would report to the ministry on July 1st. The parliament is now holding a secret session on a grilling against His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. The legislators, who filed the grilling motion to grill HH the premier, claimed that he did "some acts that are detrimental to the national security of Kuwait and its ties with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states by adopting a policy in favor of the Iranian regime." - Kuna
