Three patients were recently treated for the H1N1 virus at Al-Jahra Hospital where another patient remains under treatment and is recovering steadily. This was mentioned by senior Ministry of Health officials during a recent press conference in which they assured that these infections are normal and in no way indicate a new outbreak of the swine flu disease. “Four H1N1 positive cases recorded at Al-Jahra Hospital as of February 7, 2012 are an improvement compared to nine cases recorded during the same period in 2010, and eight cases in 2011″, said public Health Director Dr Yousuf Mendekar, who further said that individual H1N1 infection cases are normal to happen at this time of the year. He further asserted that the MOH applies World Health Organization standards when it comes to patients’ diagnosis and treatment.
