On his part, representative of Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC); sponsor of a walkathon to be held on the event, Mansour Al-Ajmi said KNPC's headquarters was chosen a launching pad for celebrating the World Diabetes Day. The walkathon, to kick start from the Yachts' Club all the way to the Green Island area, will be under patron of Minister of Health Dr. Hilal Al-Sayer and Minister of Oil and Information Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah. In Kuwait, more than 15 percent of adults are diagnosed with diabetes, while 22 in 100,000 children under the age of 14 are diagnosed with the disease.
