Minister Al-Sayer signs MOC with British hospital |

Minister of Health Dr. Hilal Al-Sayer signed here on Tuesday a memorandum of cooperation with one of the largest British hospitals specialized in children's diseases, cancer and leukemia.
Assistant Undersecretary for Medical Services Dr. Qais Al-Douairi told KUNA on the occasion of the visit by the medical team from the Great Ormond Street Hospital that the cooperation would be in several areas, including the exchange of experience, visits and dispatch of children with cancer to England for treatment. Al-Douairi said the visiting medical delegation would provide an integrated study in January on how to develop and update mechanisms used in the provision of health services for children with cancer and leukemia in line with developments in this area. Moreover, the delegation visited the National Bank of Kuwait Hospital for Children, Sheikha Badriya Al-Ahmad Center for Chemotherapy and Stem Cell Transplantation, in order to see the working mechanisms in place to deal with cases of childhood cancer, leukemia patients and assess the current situation, he added. Al-Douairi said the British hospital will send a medical team on regular basis to Kuwait to provide technical and advisory support in addition to overseeing the mechanisms of developed treatment of diseases, childhood cancer and leukemia. The visit is a follow-up to the visit of the Minister of Health Dr. Hilal Al-Sayer to the same hospital, last October, as part of plans of the Ministry of Health to develop the sector. - Kuna
