The Kuwaiti Ministry of Health has an ambitious plan to apply the uniform e-file system in all of its facilities
, involving health centers and clinics, a medical official said here Sunday. The ministry is keen on introducing information technology to all health utilities in the country, Dr. Walid Al-Falah, assistant undersecretary of the ministry for planning and quality control, told reporters. "This technology is a key component of the Health Ministry's program purposed to revamp health services," he said while inspecting a health information system and e-file project at the Amiri Hospital. For his part, the ministry's information system section chief, Salah Baqer, extolled the uniform e-file system as a strategic goal for the ministry to notch up. Preparations are in full swing at the ministry for setting up an advanced center to be equipped with state-of-the-art technology, inventing a fresh website for the ministry and introducing the e-file system to all clinics and laboratories, he added. The ministry is seeking in earnest to overhaul all medical and health services with the purpose of streamlining and simplifying procedures and revamping performance, Baqer pointed out. - Kuna
