The Health Ministry will study plans to establish neurosurgery clinics in Kuwait, said an official on Wednesday.
Head of the brain and neurosurgery department at Ibin Sina hospital Dr. Yousif Al-Awadi said in a press conference for the upcoming third Kuwaiti and American international brain and neurosurgery meeting, to be held on December 5, that such clinics would lessen the load on hospitals in terms of treating and receiving patients suffering from brain and neurological disorders. Regarding the upcoming conference, the official revealed that it would deal with means to diagnose and treat neurological and brain diseases, stated Al-Awadi. He indicated that previous conferences focused on developing the skills of physicians, namely Kuwaitis, to better treat diseases of such nature, hoping that such a conference, to be attended by 1,300 doctors, would further reinforce Kuwait's status as a leading GCC country in the field of neurosurgery. - Kuna
