KUWAIT: The metro railway project is expected to enter its final phase of execution before the end of this year , said the official spokesman of the Cabinet Dr Mohammad Al-Busairi. He indicated that the higher committee of the project (to be carried out through the Build-Operate-Transfer system) has begun receiving tenders from local and foreign firms. It will be reviewed during the upcoming months.

Furthermore, Al-Busairi, who is also the Minister of Parliament Affairs and Communication indicated that the Civil Service Council (CSC) has finished the process of preparing bonuses for more than 52 government directorates. It has been referred to the Cabinet. Among these are the workers who have been allocated the Fatwa and Legislation Department, the General Department of Investigations, the Legal Department at the Kuwait Municipality, reported Al-Watan.

The minister also addressed the privatization draft law issue. He conveyed the Cabinet's willingness to address the proposed amendments, adding that its representatives would be present at the Parliament's financial affairs committee during the upcoming meeting.

He was talking during a press conference, following the Seventh Arabic Media Convention about the possibility of reducing the international call tariff rates.
