KUWAIT, May 29 (KUNA) -- A live studio to report and broadcast fire accidents, as well as a firefighting academy are part of the Kuwait Fire Service Directorate (KFSD) future plans
, KFSD Director General, Major General Jassem Al-Mansouri revealed Saturday. In a statement to KUNA on the sidelines of honoring a batch of media men and women, Al-Mansouri pointed out that the purpose of establishing the live studio is to deliver quick awareness messages, as well as documentaries, to public. As for the academy, he said that it would be established after consulting with specialized American and European academies, and with the aim to upgrade technical and scientific skills of Kuwaiti firefighters. Cooperating with those facilities would be based on a five-year academic partnership, he indicated. On his part, Director of Public Relations' Department at KFSD Lieut-Colonel Khalil Al-Amir said the profession of firefighting "makes news," valuing at the same time media's role in making the public aware of fire dangers. Commemorative plaques were gifted to media personnel at the end of the honoring ceremony. - Kuna
