Kuwait succeeds in cutting gas emanation at oil sites |

KUWAIT, June 30 (KUNA) -- State upstream operator, Kuwait Oil Company, has succeeded in cutting proportion of burning gas from oil fields by 2.6 percent at all affiliate sites. The KOC said in its magazine
, "Al-Kuwaiti," that this achievement would contribute to efforts for minimizing pollution as a result of the burning gas throughout the country. The acting director of the gas group at the KOC, Mohammad Al-Zu'bi, said the company target of burning gas according to the 2009-2010 plan was set at 3. 1 percent, however, due to the tremendous efforts of the concerned staff, the proportion actually dropped to 2.6 percent. The KOC target of cutting the volume of the pumped oil-affiliate gas for the 2013-2014 period was set at one percent. Al-Zu'bi affirmed that the company is implementing a strategy for cutting gas emanation at the oil sites and other facilities such as power reactors and plants.- Kuna
