Wataniya Telecom signs contract with Nokia Siemens |

Kuwait's Wataniya Telecom announced on Wednesday signing a contract with Nokia Siemens Networks to modernise its (HSDPA) network.
The deal to upgrade the system aims to provide customers with new environmentally friendly products and services. General Manager and Chief Executive Officer Scott Gegenheimer said in a press statement that the contract was part of Al-Wataniya's keenness on providing a healthy lifestyle for the children of Kuwaiti society. The company will use the quality of the platforms(Flexi) from Nokia Siemens Networks which provides the advantage of cutting energy consumption by no less than 70 percent, he said. Gegenheimer said protection of the environment occupies is among the top concerns of the Wataniya Telecom. Thus, it chose this software, based on several criteria, such as its small size, capacity to reduce electricity bills and because it is friendly to the environment. He added, that Nokia Siemens has a third-generation (3G) innovations, which depend on the Flexi production line, minimum volume, efficiency, easy application, transportation with minimal carbon contents. - Kuna
