KUWAIT, May 11 (KUNA) -- The phenomenal advances in the field of information technology facilitate data storage using diverse media and methods and trade of information through the internet , which is a great benefit, an official said on Tuesday.
The remark came in the opening address of the The 2nd Kuwait ICT Security Forum by Head of the Central Agency for Information Technology Ali Al-Sheridah.
Al-Sheridah gave the address on behalf of the event sponsor Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs and Minister of Communications Mohammad Al-Busairi.
The speech highlighted the importance of maintaining information security and secrecy through the latest applications and technologies, which would help along overall sustainable development. The speaker added Kuwait's information systems network comes to facilitate exchange and retrieval of information among and by state bodies while maintaining secrecy and security of the data.
The authority, he pointed out, encourages the private sector to seek partnerships with state bodies in this area and the state is keen on cooperating with regional and international bodies and other countries to learn from others' experiences and expertise.
The three-day forum, he said, addresses a host of issues including information security applications and technology, electronic transactions security, wired and wireless communication, and communication and information security legislation. - Kuna
