Kuwait's Central Agency for Information Technology (CAIT) pledged commitment towards increasing awareness for residents on the use of information technology in day-to-day activities and binary education.
Deputy Director General in CAIT's National Projects sector Abdullatif Al-Sarayya said on Monday that the agency has updated its information website for increased awareness. He added that the website includes a training course for both English and Arabic users in basic skills on the uses of information technology. The website also contains media awareness on binary culture and the ideal use of IT in the form of television podcasts recently broadcasted on state television. In addition, the page boasts the ten most dangerous and latest viruses, and ways to combat them. The page is updated frequently, in addition to a four-colour display that illustrates the level of security threats that occur during data transfers worldwide. According to statistics, the website's traffic has increased by 30 percent since April 2008, with more than 350,000 hits from visitors across the world, he noted. Al-Sarayya added that the e-gate provides 330 services; 58 of which are functional and another 272 informational.
