NEW DELHI, Aug 9 (KUNA) -- As many as 26 Indian Army personnel have been missing in northern- most state of Jammu and Kashmir, since the devastating cloudburst hit the states Leh-Ladkah region three days ago.
According to Indian Army sources, most of the missing Army personnel could have been buried under deep slush, or are feared to have been washed away in heavy flash-floods into Pakistan's territory. Besides, the ravaging cloudburst has left behind a saga of damage to the countrys Army establishment. According to Army sources, small bridges used for reaching out to many forward locations along the India-Pakistan border have been destroyed beyond repair. As many as 500 local residents have also been missing since the cloudburst tragedy hit the region. - Kuna
