Some 10,000 homes were threatened on Sunday by a wildfire that nearly tripled in size on Saturday in the mountains above Los Angeles, officials said.
While no fatalities from the blaze were known, three people were burned, at least three homes destroyed and the residents of about 1,000 homes were forced to evacuate.
Mandatory evacuations were ordered in Altadena, Big Tujunga Canyon, Glendale, La Crescenta and Pasadena.
