KUWAIT, March 21 (KUNA) -- A Kuwaiti commerce ministry official met here Sunday Japan's Toyota representative in Kuwait on the latest developments of Toyota safety faults recently announced by the mother company.
Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry for Trade Control Ali Al-Baghli said in a release he had met Toyota's representative Abdullah Al-Shuweia on Toyota's brake faults, which had recently sparked a world row, especially in the US and Japan.
During the meeting, the Japanese company's official made it certain that no Toyota owners in Kuwait had lodged any complaint against such alleged safety problems, he said.
Toyota, the world's biggest carmaker, had recalled more than eight million cars worldwide over concerns about floor mats and accelerator pedals. - Kuna
