KUWAIT, May 11 (KUNA) -- The Commercial Bank of Kuwait (CBK) said Tuesday it suffered KD 1.454 million in losses in the first quarter this year, against KD 3.335 million net profits in the same period last year.
CBK attributed the loss to diversion of all operational profits to loans and investment portfolios. CBK said in a statement operational profits until March 31 were KD 22 million. It said total assets were KD 3.7 billion by end of first quarter against KD 3.6 billion by December 31 last year, and shareholders' equity were KD 441 million. CBK said it would focus on Kuwaiti market, activate principles of governance and carry out with structural reforms. - Kuna
