KUWAIT, July 5 (KUNA) -- Names of juice mixes change throughout the year in accordance to current political, sports, and social events in Kuwait and the world. The long hot summer days come with the need of cool refreshing fluids
, therefore drive-thru juice stores are highly popular in Kuwait, and juices named after the number one football player in the World "Messi" are on high demand by World Cup watchers. Several juice stores in Salmiya had their employees wearing World Cup t-shirts, as ways to attract customers. Juice menus include cocktails and fruit mixes named after football teams, players, singers and romantic or comic quotes like "heart breaker". Mahmoud Al-Jadaa, a juice store manager told KUNA, "Don't be surprised at the names on the menu, the refreshing and delicious juice mixes created by store owners are being marketed through their attractive names, depending on seasonal events." "Successful store management seeks to provide the best services for its customers, therefore it updates its menu with new and attractive items," he clarified. "We don't only aim to sell, but to provide healthy and nutritionally balanced juice mixes." "Each store runs a competition among its employees, to encourage them to create new juice mixes that would be a best seller," Al-Jadaa explained. "Prospective winners get generous awards." On the other hand, Mohammad Ali, a store employee said: "We use fresh fruit juices in our cocktail mixes, as people have become more aware of healthy nutritional eating and habits". Clarifying that one can find the same juice mix in various stores but under different names, and that only increases competition among juice stores and their marketing strategies. Meanwhile, Salem Al-Muhana, the owner of a juice company said: "There are no intellectual rights in their field; therefore it is a fair competition among stores in naming their products." KUNA interviewed several customers of juice stores, Osama Al-Anizi, 26 years, said that names of fresh juices attract the youth during the summer, as juice stores advertise their products on large posters and banners outside their stores. University student Ali Sultan, 21 years, laughed loudly when asked about what he thinks of the juice names, "the names are attractive, I would not hesitate to try one of the juices, if only for the adventure," he assured. As for Khalid Al-Kandari, 24 years, he was eager to drink the "Barcelona" juice, a turquoise blue and red cocktail, created to suit the colors of the Barcelona team, "It's my favorite team I do not care much it costs, I will buy it". - Kuna
