KUWAIT, June 26 (KUNA) -- Kuwait-based telecommunications company, Wataniya Telecom, is set to launch its own satellite channel, due to run during the holy month of Ramadan, starting on July 15.
The announcement was made at a press conference on Sunday by the company's General Manager and Chief Executive Officer, Scott Gegenheimer.
For eight hours a day, the station will broadcast on the Nilesat frequency, and will showcase a religious program, a competition show and several drama serials.
The company intends to run the channel annually, precisely during the Ramadan period.
The idea which was conceived about two years ago, is not aimed at commercial gains, and the channel will run continuously without advertisements, the company added. - Kuna
