Kuwait Radio to broadcast jointly with private firm |

KUWAIT: Kuwait Radio is due to broadcast the first joint program with the private sector in October in line with guidelines of His Highness the Amir to enhance role of this sector.
Mohammad Abdul Mohsen Al-Awwash, the information assistant undersecretary for the radio station affairs, said in a statement to KUNA yesterday that the radio station had drawn up an accord, the first of its kind, with a private media company, to broadcast a three-hour talk show, in accordance with the policy to encourage the Kuwaiti companies and spur creativity in the domain. The agreement has been worked out in implementation of the desire of HH the Amir to transform Kuwait into a business hub, and for encouraging the private sector. The program, to be aired on the FM, would cover various cultural, social, sports and artistic issues, Al-Awwash said. Khaled Al-Roudhan, the general manager of the company, affirmed necessity of such cooperation for sake of realizing aspirations of His Highness for boosting development. The Ministry of Information has formed a special team to follow up on development affairs and promote government activities. - KUNA
