The Kuwait Livestock Transport and Trading Company (KLTT), also known as Al-Mawashi, announced on Sunday that it has completed its preparations for the upcoming Eid Al-Adha season
, importing more than 91, 000 sheep to meet local demand. In a statement issued to announce its preparations for the upcoming annual festival, the KLTT revealed that it had imported two large shipments of live Australian-born sheep, each consisting of 95,000 animals, which in total amounts to 186,000 sheep for Eid Al-Adha. The company affirmed that it is committed to supplying Australian sheep to help keep livestock prices at reasonable levels, with prices usually rising during this period when slaughtering a sheep to mark the holy festival is common for many families. The company advised consumers to slaughter livestock in licensed slaughterhouses as a way of protecting public health. The KLTT is listed on the Kuwait Stock Exchange (KSE), with the Kuwaiti government owning 61 percent of the shares in the company. - KUNA
