Kuwait: The Kuwait Environment Protection Society (KEPS) has launched the Gulf country's first wind-powered electricity generator, Kuna has reported. Currently undergoing a trial period, the generator requires winds of a speed of no less than 11km/h, producing a capacity of 500kw/h as a result of maximum wind speeds of 20km/h. It marks a new milestone in the eco-friendly efforts by the country, with 17 more planned throughout the country in the coming future, said KEPS. [AMEInfo.com] |
