Kuwait honored with award for scientific excellence |

Kuwait Foundantion for Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) was honored at conclusion of the Arab Thought Foundation Conference on Thursday with the award for Arab scientific creativity.
The chairman of the foundation, Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, presented the award. KFAS, founded in 1976 upon an initiative by the Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, was granted the award for the first time. Elias Al-Zahrouni of Saudi Arabia was given the award for technological innovation. The award for economic innovation was granted to the Central Bank of Lebanon for coping well with ripples of the international downturn. The occupied Palestinian village Baleen was honored with the social innovation for its peaceful resistance. Ahmad Salamah, a renowned Egypt writer, was granted the media creativity prize, Zahra Al-Mansouri of Morocco for literary excellence, Saqiah Abdel Men'em Al-Sawi of Egypt for technical creativity.
