Media official inaugurates press centre, exhibition of GCC summit |

Head of the Media Committee of the 30th summit of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Mohammed Abul Hassan has inaugurated
on Saturday the summit's press center and exhibition for the high-level meeting that will kick start next Monday. Abul Hassan expressed in his press statement on the sidelines of the opening the press center his happiness with the technical equipment that the centre includes and that will be used by all the media people during the summit. He said that this media centre is adjoined by a media exhibition that all GCC countries are taking part in it and it is sponsored by the GCC Secretariat General, pointing out the target behind this centre is supplying media people with necessary information and data. The ranking media figure has called on the media people to benefit from their presence in Kuwait and to react to the activities organized by the media committee that include a visit to the Kuwaiti parliament, Kuwaiti Fund of Arab Economic Development, Al-Babtin Library and Dasman Centre of Diabetic Diseases. On the number of the media people participating in the conferece, Abul Hassan said some 100 journalists and media people have arrived in Kuwait till today 9 p.m and the others are to come. Functions of the press Centre include a symposium on the current international affairs affecting the GCC countries with the participation of Kuwaiti Journalists Society and a galaxy of guests, besides a symposium titled "GCC Summit in the eyes of Mass Media" that will be attended by media people from all media outlets. Further, the press Centre activities will include holding a symposium titled, "The Mental Image of GCC Countries in the International Mass Media", and it is organized by specialist media professors from Kuwait and other GCC countries. - Kuna
