Kuwait is exerting all efforts to offer the best care for people with special needs and solving their problems
, in order to help them to be accepted into their societies, said Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Dr. Mohammad Mohsen Al-Afasi on Saturday. In a speech on the occasion of the Arab Day for Disabled, coinciding December 13, the minister said that this day was set by the Arab League, in order to raise awareness about this important segment of the society. He stressed the importance of integrating those with special needs into the society and focusing on disability issues and conducting studies, researches, as well as evaluating annual achievements of the Arab League in this field. He said that complete coordination between related bodies helped provide services for the disabled in three main fields; security, belonging and success. Al-Afasi said that governmental support for the disabled allowed them to gain a number of prizes in various fields at the local and international levels, which raised their self-esteem. He expressed thanks to all people seeking to serve those with special needs.
