KUWAIT CITY, Dec 15: The Government and Manpower Restructuring Program (GMRP) has taken the necessary measures
to encourage graduating students from Kuwait University (KU) and Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET) to seek employment in the private sector, reports Al-Seyassah daily quoting GMRP Director-General Abdulaziz Al-Qussar. Al-Qussar made this statement during the opening of the second job fair at KU in the presence of Dr Abdul-Redha Aseri, dean of the College of Social Sciences.
GMRP and several private companies collaborated with the college to organize the job fair. Al-Qussar revealed a similar exhibition will take place at the College of Administrative Sciences starting from Dec 17 to update students on the changes in the private labor sector. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health (MoH) has no intention to pull out nurses from the schools without any replacement, reports Al-Seyassah daily quoting Director of the Nursing Department Awatif Al-Qattan.
Al-Qattan said the ministry has appointed nurses in most kindergartens with an aim of providing each school with a nurse but some nurses serve two schools in one educational zone due to the shortage of nursing staff. In another development, Health Minister Dr Hilal Al-Sayer has appointed Assistant Undersecretary for Planning and Quality Affairs Waleed Al-Falah as acting Assistant Undersecretary for Medical Affairs until the return of Dr Qais Al-Duwairi from leave. Moreover, Undersecretary Dr Ibrahim Al-Abdulhadi issued a decision on the transfer of Dr Reem Al-Asosi from the Technical Department at the General Diwan of the ministry to Al-Sabah Health Zone. Director of Al-Sabah Health Zone Dr Abdullatif Al-Sahli then appointed Al-Asosi as Deputy Director of Chest Hospital, in addition to her regular duties.
