Al-Othman: Al-Hamra to go higher than Al-Tahrir tower |

KUWAIT, Dec 16 (KUNA) -- Chief Executive Officer of Al-Hamra real estate firm Khaled Al-Othman has said today that the under construction Al-Hamra tower has reached 358 metres
in height and it remains only 15 metres to go beyond the 372-metre Al-Tahrir tower in height, the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported on Wednesday. Al-Othman has said in a press statement that the total height of the tower after its completion will be 412 metres, pointing out that there is 54 metres only remaining for this dizzying 77-story building to finalize. He went on to say that the last storys of the building will be known for their distincive design and unprecedented height as they will include a luxurious world restaurant occupying more than a single story. He noted that the facade covering works are accelerating as the tower started to have its exterior don that consists of a glass layer covering its three main fronts , besides two kinds of the natural rocks for the southern facade overlooking the Kuwait city. Al-Othman went on to assert the finalization of most electromechanic, extensions and finishing touches of the tower and the operation of 22 of the total 41 elevators to serve the tower's occupants and visitors in the summer of 2010. He added that designing the outside gardens surrounding the project has been completed and that area around the project will be cleaned and evacuated of all building materials in the second quarter of the next year to start the forestation of a 600-metre area surrounding the project. He said that the three components of the project , namely the tower, the mall and parking building, have been completed and so five bridges will be built soon to connect them in a way that facilitates the free movement from the parking building to the tower or the mall.- Kuna
