Sewage plant repair work

The Ministry of Public Works announced that it would launch maintenance and repairing operations as soon as the cleaning process, in addition to damage assessment is completed . A recent court ruling has passed a verdict in favor of the Ministry of Public Works, which had filed a lawsuit against the contracting company that was in charge of supervision. The announcement was made by the Ministry's Deputy Assistant for Sewage Engineering Department, Khalid Al-Khazzi. He indicated that the contractor
has presented two separate solutions toward repair work, depending on the amount of damage that has taken place at the plant, reported Al-Watan. In addition, the Head of the Technical Committee for the plant's rehabilitation process, Ali Abu Al-Banat said that the total cost would not exceed KD 15 million.

Physiotherapists to rank as doctors
KUWAIT: The Ministry of Health is considering the possibility of changing the title of physiotherapy specialists into "physiotherapists." The possible change comes as an attempt to consider them on the same level as physicians and doctors of other medical specializations. The announcement was made by the Ministry Assistant Undersecretary for Assisted Medical Service, Dr Qais Al-Duwairi, reported Al-Watan. Al-Duwairi, on behalf of the Health Minister, made his statement during the inauguration of the "9th S
cientific Forum for Physiotherapy." He assured the Ministry's commitment to hold similar forums for various medical specialties in order to encourage the exchange of expertise amongst specialists in their fields.

Officials to be reshuffled at MEW
KUWAIT: The Minister of Electricity and Water(MEW), Dr. Badr Al-Shurian has appointed Ahmad Al-Dosari as Deputy Assistant for Coordination and Follow-up department. He will succeed former Deputy Khalid Baqir who was sent into retirement this October. Al-Dosari was chosen for the position in recognition of the pivotal 'Tarsheed' power conservation campaign, reported Al-Watan. Furthermore, the Minister also intends to reshuffle workers, as well as elect members to fill in the vacancy.

Al-Ghamdi's expulsion
KUWAIT: A recent statement by the Thawabet Al-Umma assembly commended the decision made in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to relieve Ahmad Al-Ghamdi, head of the Morality Control Authority in Makkah,. He was relieved of his duties following a fatwa he issued allowing people of both genders to gather in public. The statement further asserted that "fatwas should be made on a solid basis and not question the constants of faith by failing to verify facts before making resolutions," reported Al-Watan. They expressed that all Muslim governments should guarantee Islam's protection against such controversial resolutions.
