KUWAIT: The 'demolishing' team in charge of Asima has targeted an illegal structure along the Fourth Ring Road. Here, a private garden
is being used a storage place to stash away empty plastic boxes. The measure comes as part of its efforts to ensure that individuals, private companies, even the public bodies conform to the State Property Law, in addition to the regulations issued by the Municipal Council. The Head of the Asima demolishing team, Tariq Al-Shaiji announced that it discovered two makeshift sheds, completely covered by foliage (Kena Carpis). These rooms were used to store thousands of empty plastics boxes. He also explained that these two rooms failed to meet the basic safety and security standards. Furthermore, it was stored in a residential area. According to Al-Shaiji, these empty plastic boxes were previously used to store medication. "The storage conditions are bad because it was kept outside when the sunlight was strong, especially since plastic chemically reacts with the sun's heat. The team(demolition) issued a warning letter to the house owner. He was asked to remove it or the team will do away with the violation," he noted. Al-Shaiji also called for enacting laws and regulations that pertain to this issue.
