Teachers to get overtime bonuses, says minister |

KUWAIT: The Minister of Education and Higher Education, Dr Moudhi Al-Homoud, has issued a recent decree to adopt the Civil Service Commission's(CSC) previous decision to pay overtime bonuses to teachers.
Only those assigned with examination duties for educational levels from the sixth to the 12th grade will be entitled to receive the benefits. These will be made in consistent with the recommendations made by the Kuwait Teachers Society(KTS). This announcement was made in a press release by the Secretary of the Kuwait Teachers Society, Dr. Abdurraheem Al-Kandari. The bonuses will be accorded to teachers gradually in accordance with the duties they have been assigned. Furthermore, Al-Kandari expressed gratitude at the implementation of recommendations, stating that the decision will not only stabilize timely payment, but also the work control according to which teachers carry out their duties. On a separate note, a delegation from the Society's board, led by its head, Aiyedh Al-Sehaly, has left to Syria in order to participate in the Fifth Conference of Arab Teachers Union where several subjects will be discussed. The delegation is expected to present a draft law that aims at amending the present practice followed by the Union to activate its educational role through coordination.
