KUWAIT, Dec 28 (KUNA) -- The State of Kuwait is confident it would overcome the threat of suspension of its membership with the International Olympic Committee
through parliament approval on a bill to bring Kuwaiti sports law into conformity with the Olympic Charter, the concerned minister said on Monday. Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Dr. Mohammad Al-Efasi told KUNA he was confident the parliament would pass the said bill in its special session on Wednesday. MPs would surely consider the state's best interest and cooperate with the government in this regard, he added. The parliament's Youth and Sports Affairs Committee members are most keen to finish a report on the draft bill ahead of Wednesday's session, and would meet to put its final touches on Tuesday, Al-Efasi remarked. The minister urged all concerned to put the state's best interest as top priority at all times and to help push Kuwaiti sports forward. - Kuna
