Awqaf Ministry organizes Islamic Arts forum Jan. 4 |

KUWAIT, Dec 30 (KUNA) -- The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs organizes between January 4-15 the Fourth International Islamic art forum under the auspices of Deputy Prime Minister for Legal Affairs
, Minister of Justice and Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs adviser Rashid al-Hammad at the Grand Mosque. Director of the Grand Mosque Ahmad al-Asfour said in a press conference held at the Grand Mosque that the forum is a continuation of the approach taken by the Grand Mosque in order to promote cultural and civilizational role of the mosque and forging closer link between the public and the prayer places. He underscored the importance of "spreading more awareness of the importance of Islamic art and its values and implications in addition to having such values integrated into all aspects of our daily lives." He added that this forum would focus on applications of Islamic art on ceramics, which is one of the most important areas in which Muslim artists had been an innovative in in the past and present. - Kuna
