KUWAIT, Jan 4 (KUNA) -- The National Aviation Services NAS officially announced on Monday that it has won a contract to provide Aircraft Maintenance Certification to Qatar Airways
, one of the world's fastest growing airlines. Qatar Airways has entrusted the responsibility of certifying their B-777 and Airbus 320 aircraft at Kuwait International Airport to NAS. CEO of NAS, Hassan Al-Houry said in a press release that besides the new Aircraft Maintenance contract that is valid for three years, NAS will continue to provide Qatar Airways with standard ground handling solutions like Passenger, Ramp, Lounge and Cargo services. Civil Aviation regulations require certification of all aircraft engaged in commercial air transportation for their airworthiness prior to each flight by approved Aircraft Maintenance Organizations, regarding that NAS Kuwait has obtained the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) part-145 approval as an Aircraft Maintenance Organization for line maintenance certification of aircraft to International Standards, he noted Al-Houry said that this signifies its dedication and commitment to realizing its vision and objectives in providing value added services ranging from standard Ground Handling services to Aircraft Maintenance Certification to its customers. NAS is the first Private Ground Handling Company to have obtained the EASA Part 145 approval in Kuwait. "Aircraft Maintenance is one of the most stringently regulated fields within the aviation industry worldwide that requires a thorough and accurate approach that can pinpoint each and every detail of the aircraft's mechanics before releasing it for take-off. The level of accuracy is required to be immaculate and these checks are done by our experienced certified industry professionals giving our airlines total peace of mind when they fly." added Naser Fahad Al-Obeid, Director of Engineering at NAS. He added that although NAS has been providing ground handling and passenger services to Qatar Airways for over three years now, the addition of aircraft maintenance certification to the list of services only solidifies Qatar Airways' trust in the company's abilities and further validates the reputation of NAS as a leader in its field. NAS is an innovative and fast growing company with a regional presence and financial backing. The NAS Group headquartered in Kuwait is an internationally reputed aviation services provider to airlines and airports worldwide. It has increased its global footprint to include Jordan and the Indian sub-continent where it currently operates at multiple airports including the Mumbai International Airport. - Kuna
