KUWAIT, Jan 5 (KUNA) -- Kuwait University (KU) Secretary Anwar Al-Yatama Tuesday hailed the Civil Service Commission's (CSC) decision to raise the retirement age for teaching staff at the university from 65 to 70.
The decision reflects the significance the government places in support of the education process in the country, Al-Yatama, also Secretary General of KU's Council, he said in a press statement. The university's council had adopted a number of proposals last year in support of the education staff, to provide them with several incentives, among them the retirement age extension, he added. Al-Yatama expressed his gratitude to the teaching staff for their efforts, the CSC and the Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education Dr. Moudhi Al-Humoud for her continued support of university matters. He also hoped other proposals would see the light in the coming future. - Kuna
