Hala February cmte announces launch of festival on 29th |

KUWAIT, Jan 12 (KUNA) -- The higher steering committee of Hala February cultural festival announced on Tuesday the launch of the 11th festival on Jan 29, which will last until the 28th of the month after.
Head of Hala February's organizing committee Walid Al-Saqobi said in a statement today that the festival will coincide with the anniversary of HH the Amir's assumption of the top post, adding that the committee had finalized programs of the festival. It will include many major activities, with participation of many institutions and large corporations, and will continue to focus on national economic issues, he added. Al-Sagobi stressed on importance of economic aspects related to the global recession, which needs to be renewed to contribute in moving the market activity, especially that statistics for the Ministry of Commerce confirms that business is slow in February. Hala Festival is the prime mover for the return of the market by offering discount agreement with shops, he added. He noted that the festival coincided with student mid-term vacation, allowing the family to enjoy all the activities of the large variety of the program, adding that Hala Higher Committee studied opinion surveys conducted after the end of 2009. The festival will celebrate the independence and liberation days of Kuwait and it emphasizes advancing national values and spirit of citizenship among people and youths, he added. He said that the preparation of the current session began immediately after the end of last year's festival to come out with better ideas.
