Al-Jahra road facelift at KD 343 mln - Al-Mansour |

KUWAIT, Jan 16 (KUNA) -- Assistant Deputy of Road Engineering Affairs at Labor Ministry Eng. Hussain Al-Mansour announced a 343 million Kuwaiti dinar (kd) project to develop Al-Jahra road to start next July.
Speaking to KUNA on Saturday, Al-Mansour said that the project will include the establishment of road maintenance and other services (electricity-water-telephones) on Al-Jahra and Jamal Abdul-Nasser roads, as part of the country's developmental plans. The project will start from Al-Jahra gate in (north-eastern) to UN roundabout (south-western) extending to Jamal Abdul-Nasser road (north-eastern) to (south-western) he added. The developmental project is at the south-west of Kuwait ais an important link between suburban areas to other vital services, such as hospitals, Kuwait University, Ministry of Defense and Shuwaikh port. Al-Mansour added that many important projects will be established within the Al-Jahra road thus, increasing the project importance. Phase one of the developmental-maintenance works on Al-Jahra road includes the first ring road and the establishment of Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah's bridge, as well as rain water drainages and sewage. Kuwait Parliament had approved the country's development plan in their last session aiming at turning Kuwait into a financial world center. Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Minister of State for Development Affairs and Minister of State for Housing Affairs Sheikh Ahmad Fahad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah had announced that the development plan would coast KD 37 billion, subject to change. - Kuna
