Kuwait witnesses inauguration of electronic bills payment

KUWAIT, Jan 21 (KUNA) -- Minister of Electricity and Water Dr. Bader Al-Shuraiaan inaugurated on Thursday at the ministry headquarters the electronic service for payment of bills of water and electricity.
Speaking at a news conference on the occasion, the minister said the electronic service, that went into effect five months ago, was designed to facilitate the payment of the bills and preserve public funds.
This service is the start of the ministry's inclusion into the broad government electronic program that had been ordered by HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
Customers, all public and private authorities can pay their bills anytime and anywhere following the launch of the advanced service, he said.
Automated machines will be placed in the governorates to make it easy for the citizens to pay the bills. - Kuna
