KUWAIT, Jan 24 (KUNA) -- Wataniya Airways said here on Sunday that it transported over a quarter of a million passengers in its first year of operating its flights to eight destinations in the Gulf and the Middle East.
The airways held a special ceremony at its headquarters at Sheikh Saad Terminal to mark its first anniversary, and Chairman Abdulsalam Al-Bahar said it is seeking to add more desirable and popular routes to its offers. Wataniya Airways currently operates flights to Cairo, Beirut, Dubai, Damascus, Oman, Bahrain, Sharm El Sheikh, and Jeddah, Al-Bahar said. More flight routs are to be added to cater to the passengers' needs. Wataniya Airways has a fleet of four airbus planes, A 320s, and has inked a deal to rent three new aircraft it is to receive this year. The airline's CEO, George Cooper, said Wataniya Airways seeks to offer quality service for its clients and make their experience a worthy and unforgettable one. The passengers are able to use their cellular phones aboard the Wataniya planes, send and receive short messages, and use email through Wataniya online service, he pointed out. Wataniya Airways operated its first flight on January 24, 2009 to Dubai Airport. The company was listed at Kuwait Stocks Exchange December 15, 2008. - Kuna
